Shesus

A band that rocks like a raw Blondie or early Cheap Trick with an indie edge, Dayton, OH’s Shesus has a membership with quite the indie rock history. Vocalist Heather Newkirk had been in the Indicators and robthebank, bassist Kari Murphy had played with Lazy, guitarist Michelle Bodine had been in Brainiac, Omatic, and briefly with the Breeders, while original drummer Craig Nichols spent time with Terrifying Experience, Omatic, and toured with Guided by Voices. Newkirk and Bodine started work on Shesus in 1999. Shesus transitioned into a four-piece lineup and by 2004 Nichols was replaced with new drummer Dave Colvin for a short tour with the Fall.

Shesus disbanded in 2004 and singer Erika Wennerstrom formed Heartless Bastards which has received critical acclaim.
